I'm officially done with the NBA after tonight's game. Done. Will not watch the finals. Will not watch Game 6 on Friday. Don't care. Stern has ****ed the Suns out of a chance at the finals. And you will not convince me otherwise. Enjoy your Utah-New Jersey finals, you piece of ****.

I'll still watch the games, but I do agree with you. Only way Stern has any chance to come out of this OK is if the Suns come back to win the series. Then he could say he didn't rob the Suns/hand it to the Spurs. But anything short of that, and he will hear about whatever happens after this series.

Thanks for joining the rest of us in ignoring the NBA.

Actually, I've watched a bit lately. But only if there's less than 6 minutes left ... figure that'll take 45 minutes of my time.

David Stern enforced the rules. He didn't take the spineless route and give some "good of the game" exception to two guys who have broke the one rule that has been uniformly applied since its inception.

Boys, the series is not over.

Do you really think the Spurs can beat the Suns in game 6? The Suns will be on the mission of missions.

F Mario the flopper.

And that brings me to another point -- it is 7-game series and the winner has to win four games. Whoever emerges will have had to earn it.

David Stern would've been bashed on this board either way. If he would've taken the other route, SportsJournalists.com Baseball is Peeeerfect Nation would say he was protecting his stars.

And how exactly did he protect Duncan? And please don't tell me "by not suspending him." Because if you've watched the video of Duncan "coming on the floor," you know it was nothing more than Phoenix grasping at straws.

There was no altercation. Nothing even remotely close to an altercation. If you suspend Duncan for that, you'll have to suspend every player on every team that doesn't play 48 minutes.

Duncan came out onto the court. The rule is the rule.

As an aside, I tried watching five minutes of Cavs-Nets last night, and I swear, it put me to sleep.

This is supposed to be playoff basketball? In theory, the best eight teams in the NBA?

If this cheap shot is the best thing the NBA has going for it, no wonder why I never watch anymore.

No, this isn't the best thing the NBA has going for it. The 3 series that are going on right now are coming down to the wire.

Just because you don't like basketball, dosn't mean everyone dosn't like basketball(as you can clearly see by the attendance records).

What Duncan did was no different than what Diaw and Stoudemire did ... walking a little to far to make sure that their teammate is OK. This wasn't the Knicks-Bulls (1994), Knicks-Heat (1990s), Pacers-Pistons (2004) or Knicks-Nuggets (2006). This is nowhere close to any of those.

Diaw says he's a pacifist; the fact he's yet to draw a technical foul in four seasons probably confirms it. Was he going to throw down against Horry? Seriously? The only person who looked like he might have wanted to fight was Bell, who was on the court.

I respect hoops. I respect those who like it. The NBA is just way too much syrup, not enough pancake for my tastes.

I have alredy told friends the exact same thing. UNLESS the Suns come back and win and Stern's ploy is foiled, I won't watch an NBA game again. And I was already watching less than before. And I'm a friggin FAN of the NBA.

No more. I'm tired of it. Youth soccer games are screwed less by the adult overseers.

I also agree with the comments on Simmons' column. I don't like Simmons' dribblings a lot either, but every now and then I'll love something he does (I think his "diaries" of the NBA All-Star Game, the drafts, etc. are the best things he does).

But the column on the suspensions was right on. The best thing he's done in a long time I'd say.

And Dunca shouldhave been tossed for that. I don't care what Stern's reason was for not doing it. he came on the court in reaction of a play on the court. He goes. There's not supposed to be any grey area.

And all of this is precipitated by the lax rulings on Bowen for the kick of Stoudemare and the groin smash on Nash.

If Phoenix doesn't come back and win the series I'm done, because they were cheated, not because I'm a big fan. Enjoy San Antonio-Detroit and the 1.4 rating it'll draw.

David Stern's ploy? I'm suring the networks are dying to have the Spurs in the finals.

Was glad to see Bell take a flop and Ginobili get called for it. I've hated him more than any other NBA player for the past few years because he acts like a little ***** all the time, every time a call doesn't go his way or he doesn't get a call.

Agreed on Ginobli. I absolutely hate how that guy lowers his head and drives straight to the hole and gets away with charges and travels. If anybody steps in the way, they get whistled for the foul because Ginobli is already full steam ahead. We all know the aggressor/driver gets the calls. In the rare case he gets called for the charge, he whines. I'm also glad he got a black eye in this series.

I don't know how much more can be said about Stern and the ruling. I'm in agreeance with most of you on here. The NBA's rule is trash. The fact they didn't hit that cheapshot artist Bowen or Baron Davis or JRich for fouls clearly with malicious intent or pisses me off. Yet Amare and Boris do the human nature reaction thing when the teammate who's carrying them to the NBA Finals is laying on the floor in a crumbled heap and get suspended. Yet Duncan does the same thing and nothing. I don't care if it wasn't an "altercation," Duncan was going to the floor just like Amare and Boris to check on a teammate during a heated situation. It's garbage; ****ing garbage.

From the footage I saw, Diaw and Stoudemire didn't get more than two feet onto the court, if that.

Here's an idea: let guys leave the bench area as long as they stay on the sidelines, don't go onto the court and don't get involved in any altercations. There needs to be a little wiggle room.

Bell is just is as big a flopper.

What's funny to me is when the NBA didn't have strict rules and enforce them, the baseball guys all claimed they hated the NBA because of the "thug" factor.

Now that the game has been cleaned up they are claiming the rules are too strict.....
