The daily Rapid City Journal has an immediate opening for a sports reporter who wants to immerse himself or herself in a unique sports environment to focus on preps, outdoors, and a wide variety of other activities. We’re looking for someone who can work well on deadline, who has an eye for great stories, works well in collaboration with others, and who wants to develop into a top-notch writer and storyteller. We seek someone with prior sports reporting experience, but will consider anyone who wants to work hard, have fun, and produce interesting stories for both print and online. An understanding of social media is also desired. Our 23,000-circulation, 7-day daily newspaper is the second-largest in South Dakota and serves a large geographic area.
