The Register-Guard, a morning daily in Eugene, Ore., is seeking to hire a sports reporter to cover the University of Oregon football beat. Our reporter will have big shoes to fill in continuing to provide readers the most comprehensive, accurate and insightful coverage in print, online and in social media of one of the top college football programs in the country. Our nationally recognized department is looking for a hard-working journalist who can be both independent and a team player, and who sets the highest standards on a beat in which there is no off season. He/she also must combine a lively personality with technical ability to take ownership and engage readers on The Register-Guard's football blog through a number of tools -- including but not limited to writing, comment moderation, photography, video creation and online chatting. Other responsibilities will include at least one other beat, such as Oregon women's basketball, in addition to covering other events and features during the year.
Applicants must have a minimum of a four-year college degree; salary will be commensurate with experience.
Salary range is $706.90 to $1088.40 per week.
All employment offers are contingent on the results of a pre-employment drug screening.
Qualified applicants should submit an application, cover letter, resume and non-returnable clips by Monday, July 15, 2013, to [email protected] or mail (with postmark by July 15, 2013) to:
