Responsibilities include coverage of athletics for five rural high schools, outdoor recreation and agriculture in beautiful North Central Idaho. The successful candidate will have experience in photography, design, pagination (Quark), and web design and development would be a plus.

Agriculture?

When they say "rural" in the ad, they mean it.

Grangeville is really isolated, even by Idaho standards. But if you like to fish, hunt, go whitewater rafting ... you're in the heart of outdoors country.

Not sure about the quality of the paper, though; I believe that chain has a bunch of weekly/small daily papers in eastern Oregon.

I had lunch in Grangeville once. Coco is right on all counts. Eagle owns a number of quality papers in Oregon communities, although not limited to the east side.
