The Wynne Progress is seeking a reporter to cover sports and general assignments. Duties include photography and page layout. Quark and Photoshop experience preferred. Not too keen on the paper, but as far as the town goes, it's your typical east/northeast Arkansas town. Football's big, but so are yard sales, fried catfish and duck season. Wynnes is one of the better small cities to live in when it comes to east/northeast Arkansas. If you're into the small-town, southern living, it should be right up your alley.

Forgive my ignorance about ``27 Trap''...

Does that mean you'll be calling the football team's plays as well as covering their games?

I'm genuinely confused about the term.

The legendary former coach at Wynne, Don Campbell, was known for his archaic Diamond-T offense that produced extremely successful results. It was estimated that until he retired two years ago his teams would run the '27 trap' between 65 and 75 percent of the time on offense, if not more.

Be prepared and bring a mosquito net. Last time I drove through that area I had to stop twice and scrape the bug gunk off my windshield. Those rice fields will make a purple martin fat.
