Chicago ... Chicago...
From the Missouri Press Association Web site ... Rolla is on I-44, about 100 miles SW of St. Louis - that's all I got.

SPORTS EDITOR:
The Rolla Daily News, a six-day daily, is seeking an energetic, hands-on sports editor who can continue our award-winning tradition.
The Daily News is located in south central Missouri, within easy driving distance of St. Louis and Springfield. The ideal candidate will be personally productive in writing, photography and layout while understanding and embracing our need to cover the full range of sports from youth to adult recreational leagues. We cover it all. Resumes should be sent to Floyd Jernigan, publisher, via email at [email protected] or to the above at the Rolla Daily News, P.O. Box 808, Rolla, Mo., 65402.

Unless something has changed since I was younger, Rolla is something like 75 percent dudes. So guys, if you're going there to look for your soulmate, you might want to bring your A game -- you'll have lots of competition.

avoid at all costs. take my word for it. i'd rather the heartbreakers go hungry and i declare BK than take this job. i **** you not.

Is it a red flag if a publisher wants the resumes first before the editor?

I've driven through 10 worse stretches since June. I-44 from St. Louis to Springfield is not like driving through Montana, but it's head and shoulders above any stretch of interstate in Illinois or Indiana and anything on I-75 in Georgia -- unless you're a fan of construction cones.

Believe it or not, I once saw Adam Sandler in Rolla. He had a great line: "They asked me where I wanted to go on this tour ... L.A., Chicago, New York. I said, '**** that, I'm goin' to Rolla.'"
