Our content team is looking to hire an experienced editor that has a strong command of the English language.

The only role of this position is to edit articles and content. No creative ideas, management, production or anything else, just cleaning up content to ensure everything is grammatically and informationally correct.

Pay is $5 per article, which will range from 250 words to 1000 words. Weekly workload will vary by season, but initially will range from 50-75 articles per week.

If interested, please send resume and five relevant writing samples to [email protected]

$5 per article? Guess it's not asking for free work.
What RonClements said.

Cartman, Kenny, Kyle and Stan made a better offer to these guys

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
Sounds a bit like Demand Media Studios, which employed just about every laid-off/bought-out newspaper copy editor on the market (including yours truly) seven/eight years ago. It was a go-to site for "how-to" articles such as "How to Remove a Cat Vomit Stain" (yes, that was an actual title).

And you're not going to give us the answer?

Scott,
Is this a sports copy-editing job for a newspaper or website or both?

Thank you to all who have replied. I have personally responded to each applicant, and we have whittled down the large candidate pool to a select few. Please consider this position filled. We will not be accepting any more applications after the date and time of this post.

Best job post of the year. The closing of acceptance of applications sealed it.

Announced on Tuesday, closed by Friday? I doubt the candidate pool was "large."

Good lord, $5 to edit a 1,000-word piece? Did you actually mean edit or just run spellcheck?

But it's a light load of 50-75 per week, and I'm sure very little editing is needed.

I will bet $5 that you get paid your $5 per edit or whatever through Venmo
