It would seem there's little more to be said. There is one fulltime sports writer there now. And they've borrowed one reporter and one copy editor from the news side. So, if you go in, the cupboard isn't necessarily bare; it's just filled with a lot of crappy ingredients (the most bitter of all being the infamous EIC).

I think we've all discussed what makes this job one of the worst in the country.

STAY.FAR.THE.****.AWAY!!!!

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Product prices and availability are accurate as of the date/time indicated and are subject to change.
Source says they're paying in the mid, maybe upper 20's for someone with good experience. Problem is, if you have good experience, you're probably already making that or more. M'ville does have a low cost of living, but, well, how many ways can you say a job sucks? 349. And we've hit on all but three.

i've heard this is a good gig. jump, jump at the opportunity now.

Anyone take this yet? I heard one guy was interested, but the pay (mid to upper 20's) was too low.

I think they're still working without an SE now (it's tough right now b/c my insiders have moved on, so I'm a little out of the loop). From what I understand, they have two writers, and the paginator is still a loaner from news, which, I maintain, is almost an ideal situation from Ginny's POV. This way, she can make the section look exactly how she wants.

Terrible?

Look at the bright side. Ginny is a lifer in Martinsville. At least she won't ruin any other paper.

No, one was quite enough.
