Isn't this the hometown paper of SportsJournalists.com favorite GBV, err, Jeff Garcia?

If so, don't make any plans for Dec. 23. Bucs at Niners.

Yeah, jeff garcia is from gilroy. And cade mcnown is from nearby hollister. The Marlon Brando movie "The Wild Ones" was based on an incident in hollister.
The cost of living is high in gilroy and i think that paper works people pretty hard. But if you don't screw up too badly maybe you can hook on in santa cruz, salinas or monterey.

what? isn't the cost of a median-priced home in santa-****ing-cruz-****ing-california like $600K??? that is the ****ing **** you're ****ing wishing on some poor ****? give me a ****ing break.

what do you ****ing think the price of a ****ing home in montery is? ****ing free?

How many people take a job at a stepping-stone newspaper like gilroy and buy a house, thinking they're going to stay there for a long time? Jeez. If you're renting in the Monterey Bay Area, you can find a small apartment or mother-in-law cottage or a room or whatever to occupy for something reasonable. I've done it.
Santa Cruz and Monterey are expensive, but there are smaller places like Corralitos, Prunedale, Watsonville, Seaside, Marina, Felton, etc., that are not so bad.
I worry about some of the people on this site.

newbie - 30K gets you no where fast in santa cruz. listing the price of a house is a bottom line of explaining how expensive any area is.

save the ****ing pity for yourself chief.
