The 33 had me howling when I first saw it.

I've seen scores from the NCAA Division III national championship come in well over 110 and wonder, "Why didn't they just hit 7 irons to stay in bounds and out of hazards, or were they not even good enough to do that?"

And to his credit, he did bounce back with his second 5 of the day.

Those high school kids don't play by the Rules (at least to the letter) for much of their season. Then when AGAs get involved in running things at the state championship level, they have to. Thus, really high scores will happen. We've had coaches try to fight our administrators at some of the small school championships in the past.

I just looked on the course website hoping to find a scorecard that showed that the hole was all carry over water......thick trees.......no card online.
Having this chat with some guys, you could tee off with a putter, and putt it the whole way, and never take a 33.

One of my best friends played 2 groups behind him on days 1 and 2 in the High Plains tournament they had out here many years ago. Said if he was putting on 8, you could hear the ball off the face with his second shot on 9.
