Good stuff... also mentions SportsJournalists.com

the columnists who scream the loudest about bloggers invading “our” turf are generally the ones who try to do their jobs the same way bloggers do: off TV, off reading the newspapers, off being so detached from the proceedings it’s laughable.

I’m annoyed when people on sportsjournalists.com, a site I think has a lot of value and is generally frequented by good, decent folks, decide to settle old scores and air ancient jealousies behind the cloak of anonymity.

I loved him before, but I love him even more now that I know his favorite restaurant is SushiSamba.

Great interview....he just says it like it is.

Damn solid -- as always -- and I can't wait to get my paws on that book.

But how does Angee's not make his restaurant list? ;)

Dealt with him five years ago during the World Series and was easy and accessible and great to work with.

Truly one of the best. I'm so glad I had the pleasure of working at the same paper as Mike some years ago. In fact, he wrote an obituary for a writer we all knew and loved and, when I saw Mike later that week, I asked him if he would be so kind as to write my obit ... when the time comes, that is.

I hope Vac will be retired by that time, Casty

Love MV . . . but just want to make sure we have Mike's blessing to settle RECENT scores.

ditto what casty and others have said. i don't think vac has an enemy in the world in this biz. says it all right there about a columnist at a big-time paper -- he'd never big-time anyone.

what a talent. and what a guy.
