Ho, Ho, Ho, Merrrrrrrrrrrrrrry Christmas (or whatever holiday you may or may not celebrate)! (It feels early, but I started this at this time last year...holy hell.)

It’s that time of year again, the sixth annual SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa Shenanigans! Once again, I'm basically just copying and pasting last year's post.

The rules are simple: Send a PM to this handle with your name OR handle (whatever you feel comfortable with packages being addressed to, but please not both) and address you want the gift shipped to. Please also include a list of gift ideas or things you're interested in. The gift range is $15-20. You may go over that if you wish, but expect nothing more than $20 in return. You could be surprised, but don’t spend $30 and then get pissed that you got something for $16. Them’s the rules.

Oh, and anyone who enters without EXPLICIT statements that they simply cannot afford to ship to another country is eligible to draw one of our foreign posters. And vice versa, for those of you above the border or overseas.

I will close entries at noon ET on Nov. 4. I will draw names that night, and everyone will know who they are shopping for by Nov. 5. That gives you nearly seven weeks to buy something and put it in the mail. If you don’t think you can do that, please do not sign up as it is not fair to the others who participate.

Things do arise, I know. If something comes up and you will not be able to get a gift in the mail, PLEASE let me know ASAP so I can offer up a second giftee to anyone that wants one, or start shopping myself.

It really is that easy.

For example, you send me a PM that says:

Sue Sylvester
1234 Nowhere Lane
Podunkville, OH 48275

I like the Browns, the Indians, and kitschy T-shirts (size included, please). Among the movies I’d like but do not own are Blah blah blah and blah blah blah. I also wouldn’t mind one of the following CDs: blah blah blah.

There you go. Please give specific ideas on movies, books or CDs so you don’t get something you already have, and ALWAYS include clothing sizes. And be warned, for those of you who have not participated before, the PM to your Santa will include a quoted version of your PM to me, and will include your handle. For instance:

Dear BYH,

Congratulations! You drew IJAG in this year's Secret Santa! Here is the information provided.

Sue Sylvester
1234 Nowhere Lane
Podunkville, OH 48275

I like the Browns, the Indians, and kitschy T-shirts. Among the movies I’d like but do not own are Blah blah blah and blah blah blah. I also wouldn’t mind one of the following CDs: blah blah blah.

So if you want something sent to you by your real name, your handle WILL be attached to it. If you're uncomfortable with that, feel free to stick with just using your handle. But I feel pretty confident in how this works, and I've never gotten any complaints about participants outing each other without consent.

Any questions, PM them here. Please do not send your PMs to me at my other handle. I’ll check in often to compile my list. Let’s get to Santa-ing!

Don't tell anyone, but I just looked for the *Like* button.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

And I've never heard the blah blah blah CD either.

Damn good album. It's got "Real Wild Child" on it.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

Secret Santa gets earlier every year.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

It was Oct. 23 last year. I did it on the day I did it because I was off work.

Bite me. :D

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

Hey IJAG... just remember that Secret Santa keeps a list of naughty and nice!

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

I want the Moddy Christmas CD this time around, not some lousy T-shirt.

OK, I'll take that, too.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

In!

You know how I roll...

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

Noon Thursday, peeps. Good group so far...plenty of repeat customers. :)

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

If you get a fake boob postmarked from 2008, please let me or Santa know about it.
People have been out looking.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

Wait a second ... How would IJAG know who's one the list?

Are you telling me SecretSanta isn't real?

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

She had to ask me if she could use my real identity in the first post. In exchange, I needed access.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa, 2010 version

I will carry the shame of BoobGate for all my days.
It's my albatross.

I hope it haunts you in the afterlife. We had a chance to start a legacy gift, and you ... well, you didn't.

But some lucky homeless person is sleeping on silicone tonight.

Re: SportsJournalists.com Secret Santa -- DEADLINE NOON ET TODAY!!!

Drawings have been made. Pairings are being sent momentarily.

Anyone who missed out on the deadline (there are some every year) let me know if we get at least two I will do a second drawing within that pool.
