Who is she? I know I should know her, but I want to get some more of her music.

That's Feist. Her song Mushaboom is her other semi-well known one. Some of her stuff is really good and some if it's just strange. I liken her to Regina Spektor in that way although I think Regina's much better.

Unbelievable. I love that iPod commercial because the song is catchy, and I actually was going to post the same question tonight. But I managed to google some of the lyrics and found Feist.

she was on letterman about 3 weeks ago...and killed. really killed. Got her latest and then her best Cd
's pronto. Canada product, she it.

That iPod song is from "1234," and you can see the commercial here:

You also can watch the "1234" video, which is pretty interesting from a choreography point of view.

Feist has a nice voice, clear and cool like Natalie Merchant, and I'm a big Merchant fan.

Like I said, Feist is good, but if you like her I'd check out Regina Spektor and her songs: Samson/Fidelity/On the Radio, she's really good.

Regina is phenomenal, and like dre, I prefer her to Feist.
Thanks for the back-up on this. My friends are going to see her in Montreal for the 2nd year in a row, I'm so jealous. Stupid middle of the week classes. I'm listening to her right now, "That Time," so good. Also preferred to Feist are Anna Nalick, Angela Ortiz and Ingrid Michaelson.

Also, when the **** did I pass 1,000 posts. Geeze, I should pay attention to these things some more. It took me almost 3 years.

I HEART Anna Nalick.
Listen to Ingrid Michaelson. She has some stuff on iTunes and is really good. She's going to be in concert around here with Matt Nathanson and I really want to see here. Her song Breakable is amazing.

Feist's "My Moon My Man" was used in a Chocolate phone television commercial recently. I know that I've seen the ad within the past month. The Reminder is an okay disc. I would suggest checking out Neko Case or Keren Ann. You won't be disappointed.

Actually, shottie, I had forgotten at the moment I posted it was your thread. I was just replying to dreunc. Then a few minutes later I was like "Duh!" but I figured you'd enjoy it anyway. :D

I love Feist's voice. I think I like her better than Regina, but that's a tough one. That performance on Letterman was definitely money.

She put together a choir composed of members of Broken Social Scene, The National, Mates of State, Grizzly Bear, and New Pornographers. They must have a phone tree that with something like "Hey want to be on Letterman next week?"

It was the greatest collection of indie/hipster haircuts ever compiled on one stage. It was really good.

Enjoy!

Wow. Makes me wish CBS would put out a new "Live on Letterman" CD.

Thanks; I had wondered the same thing.
