Not for me, but my girlfriend, who's rooming with three girls and moving out at the end of Feb.

When they moved in together, my gf put up the money for the security deposit, but her company cut her a check for it (moving expenses). No big deal.
Now, one of the roommates has been acting like when the landlord gives them their security check, it's going to be doled out between the three of them.

My girlfriend thinks this is bull****. I agree totally. In fact, i told her if the landlord takes out like $300, she should make her other two roomates cut her checks for their share of the money taken out.

She's freaking out about this ... any advice?

Yeah, tell the roommates that if they put nothing up they get nothing back, and they have to pay their share of deductions.

It's not complicated.

Actually, allow the friends to continue believing they'll get a slice of the check until after the landlord decides he's giving all the money back.

If they think they're getting a slice, the friends will clean the house properly ...

Yeah. What are the roommates going to do? Sue?
The security was paid by her, in her name. This one is pretty cut and dry.
Is the security check/deposit in the girlfriend's name only?
