Guy who goes by the name of "Phoenix Jones" and patrols Seattle in a costume, unmasked himself in court the other day after he was arrested for pepper-spraying a bunch of people. He thought it was a fight, the sprayees said it was a party.
Apparently he's one of a few hundred people who do this sort of thing all over the country. His fellow crime fighters are not happy with him, though, calling him a glory hound and questioning his decision to unmask.

The Seattle Times story is great. Anytime you get to quote someone named "Mr. Ravenblade," you've got a gem on your hands.
Also like the reference to one of the superheroes working as a dishwasher at a Waffle House in Tennessee. Wonder what his superhero name is?

That is a good read ... and quite appropriate that you posted it for us, "Batman." :)

Here's a statement from the cops:

Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson said officers have been aware of the group for more than a year. "This is Seattle. If people want to dress up in costumes and walk around in the middle of the night, they're free to do that," Jamieson said.
