To be fair to 93Devil, Mauer hit only one home run at Target Field in 239 at-bats in 2010. He hit eight in 271 at-bats on the road.

In 2009, his MVP season, Mauer hit 16 home runs in the Metrodome and 12 on the road.

Not a completely fair comparison because Mauer didn't hit as well anywhere in 2010 as he did in '09, but I can see where 93Devil was coming from.

Mauer hitting one home run a season at home is not getting you into the HOF.

i mean, the babe hit 714 homers, no question aided some by the dimensions of the built. but he was the most feared hitter in the at home or away, period (by the way, as best could be researched, he hit 336 homers at home, 329 on the road -- what a freak!!).

We can reasonably presume he hit the 49 home runs in the following places: in the laundry room at the St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys; on the trolly on the way to the park; in the waiting room of the doctor's office while he was being treated for syphilis; in a whorehouse in Baltimore where he contracted syphilis; in a rental on the a lake while having sex with Lou Gehrig's wife; while playing the piano on a frozen lake.

These, however, cannot be documented and are considered potentially to be fraud.

Therefor, he's out.
