Sitting behind an iMac. Why?
Are you kidding me?

"In the interview, Mr. Limbaugh said the new contract would pay him about $38 million a year for eight years. He also said he would receive a $100 million signing bonus."

In a related story, six tanker trucks carrying Oxycontin were intercepted on their way to Palm Beach today.

Roger Goodell thinks this is ridiculous.

Not really considering unlike the rookie that Goodell was talking about Limbaugh has been doing his job at a very high level -- like him or not if you can't admit he is good at what he does then you are a fraud -- and proven he is worth the investment over the past 20 years or so.

Not quite Howard Stern money, but close...

Love Rush or hate Rush, he has a huge following...

Stern's deal is bigger, but it includes production, studio and staff costs. Rush's deal is a paycheck.

As many are now saying, to themselves:

"Jeez . . . if I'd only known when I was young that sheer douchebaggery could pay so well . . ."

I thought he worked for himself.

He does, but Clear Channel syndicates his show (it also syndicates Jim Rome's show in the same time slot). He owns the production end of things (has two studios & a small staff).

Like him or hate him, he has a tremendous following. His daily listenership is in the millions, and they're pretty loyal. $400MM will pay for itself for Clear Channel with advertising sales and syndication fees.

Barnum came to mind, as well.

Hey, I'm all for capitalism. And the guy pulls listeners. But as has long been known, sheer popularity has nothing to do with quality/veracity/admirability.

For comparison's sake, anyone know what Oprah is pulling per year these days? I know she's TV, not AM radio. But she's a commie, Obama fangirl.

. . . and talking about parallel mysteries, the hysterical popularity of both O and
FatMan remains deeply puzzling, to millions . . .

And yet, Rush will still probably ***** about how high his taxes will get increased if Obama gets elected.

And who was his agent? Scott Boras?

The fun will come on the day that audience shrinks, markedly.

That day won't come today, or tomorrow, or next week, but it will come.
