Sports Journalists Forum – Media, Newsroom & Reporting Talk

Help Support Sports Journalists Forum:

Saw an interesting, although potentially meaningless, stat today: 64 percent of the Cal first-rounders (since 2000, I believe) have been to the Pro Bowl.

Charlie Casserly was on the radio this morning going on and on raving about how "Carson Wentz is the next Joe Flacco!"

When did that become a thing?

Lazy comparison I've heard numerous times. Wentz and Flacco both played at FCS schools and they're both tall; therefore, they're similar!

I think Wentz will suffer from USC QB syndrome. Of course you look great at SC, you're protected by five stars throwing to five stars who are being defended by three stars. Throw in that he only started 22 games and let the buyer beware. He'll lose more games in the preseason than he did his entire college career.

I could see that happening because the draft is top heavy with OL. Someone in love with Ramsey could jump up to 3 and the Chargers could still get Stanley or Conklin.
Would seem to be a good move for the Bolts.

You need to see Ezekiel Elliots wardrobe tonight.
Ye Gods.

Ezekiel Elliott:

Well, with the options they had, I think the Chargers went with the worst. If they wanted to go defense, I would have just taken Ramsey. If they wanted a DL so bad, Buckner probably would have been a better fit in their scheme. I hope I'm wrong.

Yeah, Bosa might be a fine player, but I don't see him as the kind of impact player you take at 3. Especially when you have the pick of EVERY non-QB. Philip Rivers must have kicked his dog. Or one of his 47 kids.
