Rockies were awarded a double play after Upton interferred with Matsui at second, trying to break up the throw to first.

It was the correct call.

Yeah, Upton might want to try and sell that one better next time. Though that is the first time I have ever seen a double play on an interference call.

Hurdle pulling his players off the field reminded me of when Lou Pinella did it in Game 1 or 2 of the 1995 ALDS. Yankees fans started throwing **** after Mattingly hit his first postseason homer.

His first and only postseason homer.

Pretty sure he hit another one later in the series at the Kingdome. I should know since I was at all three games in Seattle, but I can't remember after blocking most of that series out of my memory.

I won $10 on a bet with my dad. I told him, a life-long Yankees fan, that Seattle would advance to the ALCS. I remember jumping on my bed after winning what felt like a million dollars.

Well, Colorado is in the mountain time zone so you'd think they could start at 6 local and 8 on the east coast. Of course, since Arizona is one of those ****ed up states that doesn't have daylight savings, the games played there are going to start pretty late no matter what.

They could. Of course, everyone sitting on the right field side of Coors Field would have the sun in their eyes for the first four innings of a game they paid good money to watch. But we would hate to disrupt the TV schedule for those of you 2,000 miles away. And of course most of the series does start at 8 p.m. EDT.

I was just talking to my brother about the same thing. They have Matt Herges, Jeremy Affeldt, Ramon Ortiz among others in their pen. I think they have LaTroy Hawkins also.
It is like a strange group of American League castoffs.

I meant West teams -- so my bad -- but either way, the point was made. I've never seen a game or even a television outside of the Eastern time zone, so I've never experienced a 10 a.m. baseball game. But I'm sure the fans on the West get pretty sick of missing the first two or three innings of playoff baseball when the Yankees and Red Sox are playing, presuming they give a **** in the first place. I know I would.

That is why moving to the central time zone has been a pretty cool thing for me. I get to see all of the NFL games, even if I go to church in the morning and I never miss the starts of baseball games. I know during the Yankees series this year, my dad kept getting his work schedule all screwed up because the games kept starting at 2 p.m. on the West Coast.

You don't think the Yankees would have won without Tino Martinez? That's something I've wondered many times. Surely it wasn't Donny Baseball who was holding New York back. I think it was more of a coincidence than anything else.
