I was watching some of last week's tournament, and it occurred to me, "it is only late July, and there are no more majors. The golf season is basically over".

Just seems weird.

Don't give me the fed ex playoffs.

I miss the PGA in August.

Same. PGA was always the official end of summer to me because the NFL preseason took over the attention span.

The Open is going off its traditional third Friday in July to Aug. 3-8 in 2028 because of the Olympics.

Yeah, don't know if they will. Would dovetail nicely by having it end on the first Sunday of August. Just swap the Women's Open (this weekend) and The Open. There's still enough light this time of year to have everyone tee off on 1 all four days.

Edit to add 2032 Olympics in Australia are July 23-Aug. 8, one week later than L.A.
