I think the Greencoats are sufficiently annoyed at the lack of movement by the rest of the governing bodies in the distance issue and wouldn't be surprised if they launch a Masters-specific tournament ball in the next couple years.

They'd probably insist on it being called The Competition Sphere.

That issue intrigues me a lot more than how the PGA Tour is reshuffling its chairs.

The difference is that two of the organizations allegedly represent the interests of the millions of non-elite golfers who don't want a less-distance ball and the third represents the small businessmen who sell balls to duffers as part of their gig. The Masters only has the top .0001 percent of golfers to worry about.

They'll put the logo on 'em, sell 'em in the merch area, and make a bundle. But they'll only be souvenirs. What golfer who's not in the Masters would use a ball guaranteed to cost them yards on every shot?

I mean, what 30-handicapper is going to care about playing by the rules with a shorter ball when their $500 driver isn't giving them the extra 10 yards it promised?

Most of the golfers who wouldn’t use them probably also wouldn’t notice the difference in distance.

I’d guess the only players affected are those at the top level with their 125-mph swing speeds. If you’re a 16-handicapper striping your best drives 210 yards, I don’t think you’ll see any difference at all.

Those millions of non-elites would see virtually no difference from a rolled-back ball. But it's appearing to be a dead issue.

I have no idea what Good Good is.

I once met a Good Good Girl (that’s wild to type), she played collegiately at Indiana so we had plenty to discuss. She tried to make it as a pro, burned out and went to YouTube. I’d say she chose wisely, seeing where they play and the sponsorship dollars.

Maybe he is/was a great family guy, but he is so ****ing performative about it. The stuff about the beeper was just beyond over the top as well as him letting it be know that he was skipping a (lesser) tournament because of something like a school play.
