Rudolph/Red Nosed

Sort of annoying that they air the holiday classics while Fox runs a new episode of "Glee."

Personally I'm partial to the Year Without a Santa Claus, just for the Meiser brothers.

Saw the premiere of Rudolph as a 4-year old. Abominable Snowman scared the beejeebus out of me.

The Burgermeister was a *******.
It's awesome that the Rankin/Bass ouevre has lasted more than 40 years, while Christmas specials from the '80s on have been mostly disposable crap.

Ever notice that when Santa takes off, there are only seven reindeer (including Rudolph) pulling the sleigh? I wonder if two got laid off because of the economy. Perhaps they had to leave Donner and Blitzen behind.

I don't know about the puppets. It always looks like it's a mixture of solid objects that are animated. Watching it on HD, you can see hair on the deer.

Yeah, definitely not puppets, I know. More like dolls? I read somewhere they had to move them for every click of the camera to create motion.

The same way they made 'The Golden Girls.'
