I don’t know how many of you were following this story, but he was a kid who was almost killed at 2 when a tree branch fell on him outside his day care.
The story went “viral,” and his parents then spent the next 5-plus years updating millions of people via Facebook on Tripp’s recovery. It was as heart-wrenching as it sounds, especially for parents of young kids. The outpouring and sense of community that was built there is one of the few encouraging things I’ve seen from social media.
Anyway, Tripp died last night of what appears to be respiratory failure:
