Oh, that is so awful. Like everybody else, I knew he was in tough shape, but still. This one hurts.
 
This one hits hard. Amazing pitcher and amazing person. Almost was an Atlanta Brave.

Should have ended his career with a World Series ring. Was a member of the 1986 Red Sox.
 
Read this last year and it contained an interesting anecdote about Seaver and the antiwar movement. RIP Tom Terrific.

I was too young for his first Mets stint, but I remember the celebration when he came back to the team in 1983 and then the outrage when the White Sox claimed him as free agent compensation. Yet, his exit led the way to Doc Gooden. Although it would have been cool if they were teammates.

RIP.
 
My first favorite player in any sport. My first game ever at Shea was Tom pitching a 1 hitter.
Just told that to my wife. He was my first favorite athlete. Saw him pitch a couple times as a kid. Once against Tommy John when John was a Dodger.
