Left Game 2 of the 1990 WS when wife was in labor, Marty Brennaman announced over the radio broadcast for Browning to come back as the game appeared like it would go to extra innings (it did not, thanks to Joe Oliver).

One of my faves growing up. Loved watching him pitch. And as Playthrough noted, you didn’t show up late to his games. Dude worked faster than anyone.

Saddened by this. After his perfect game I tried in vain to get a phone interview with him because of a local tie. Never could get him but I had a great interview with his father. Very humble people.
