'The Thing' Actor T.K. Carter Dead at 69

One of those actors who seemed to show up in about every third or fourth TV show or movie I watched during the 80s and 90s. Everything from "The Thing" to "Ski Patrol."

As a kid of the '80s and '90s, it was him as a teacher in "Punky Brewster" and "Good Morning Mrs. Bliss," which was retooled into "Saved by the Bell."

During pandemic times, I watched a Zoom reunion with the "Punky" cast (RIP George Gaynes), and TK Carter was part of it with all the now grown-up kids from the show. He broke down getting to be reunited with them (if only on the computer screen).

His death in “The Thing” happened off camera, so I can only assume he kicked the Thing’s ass and he assimilated it.

The story said he lived in Duarte. I didn't think anybody lived in Duarte, but it is the location for the City of Hope, a highly regarded Comprehensive Cancer Center. No speculation, just pointing it out.
