Vaguely remember a quote about what it was like pitching in a big game. I think it was something like, “I wish they had a toilet bowl behind the mound.”

Also, I do remember this quote about the 1979 pennant race, “we got a big lead, tore of the rear views and drove like Italians.”

I remembered when this story appeared in the Boston Globe; I cannot believe it was almost 12 years ago. But it showed what happened once his playing career ended. Sad all around. I remember him well with Boston.
