One of my favorite authors. I plowed through a number of his books, especially in my 30s.
Everyone (rightfully) focuses on Affliction, Cloudsplitter, The Sweet Hearafter and Continental Drift. But my favorite book of his might have been Rule of the Bone. I have no idea what they make junior high school kids read nowadays, but The Catcher in the Rye was a staple when I was that age, and I'd put Rule of the Bone right up there with it in the rebelious teen / coming of age category if I was designing a curriculum.

My junior high teacher was making us read Camus and stuff about lapsed Catholics. I think he mixed in The Catcher in the Rye.
