RIP, IMDB message boards

Sports Journalists Forum – Media, Newsroom & Reporting Talk

Most of the stuff that has gotten me suspended or banned from other boards has been deleted anyway.

You'd like some of it. I got whacked on Daily Kos at one point for calling Barack Obama a Stepin Fetchit.

Actually I rarely said anything nasty naughty or even irritating on most IMDB boards. It was the nonstop racist spammers who swamped most boards who got them shut down.

There are racists spamming you to do what, exactly, on IMDB? I've never received racist spam, but now I'm curious.

Turning every thread into a ***** fest about libburrals, wimmin, blacks and jooz, etc etc etc.

That's to be expected on the "Birth of a Nation" board.
The stunner was when it kept happening on "The Little Mermaid" board.

Jameis Winston posted something about Ariel should've just stayed quiet and polite.

Starman's been jamming every Netflix thread for years with angry takes on Gene Hackman's portrayal of Lex Luthor.

Reminds me of Chip Kelly’s first game at Oregon, when they lost at Boise State and LeGarrette Blount took a swing at a guy postgame. Some Ducks fan wrote in to ***** about all the money he spent to go see that **** show, and Kelly actually mailed him a reimbursement check.

I'd be lying if I said I knew who Jon Cho was.

I'd also be lying if I said I cared.

He's made a fine career out of being an indie/niche actor. Been in a lot of stuff. Probably most famous as Harold in the Harold & Kumar movies. Also Sulu in the newer Star Trek movies.

I thought Searching, a John Cho movie completely "filmed" via social media was pretty good.

I actually used the IMDB message boards to ask questions about films, plot points.
