Had an ELP listening session after Emerson passed. Your typical progressive rock stuff with some extra-long stuff, but most of it was an enjoyable listen.
Also, what many may not know was that he was a member of Asia for all of one televised concert in 1983 or '84. The band made a big deal of a concert at Budokan to be aired on MTV (although I heard that came about because the second album and concert ticket sales tanked so they cancelled a good part of the tour), but in between the announcement and show, lead singer John Wetton (another ex-King Crimson guy) left the band over creative differences and they recruited Lake to take over.
I was a fan of the band and saw the MTV concert and thought he did a good job, but after that he left and Wetton came back.
