Enjoyed pretty much everything he wrote, with The Alienist being his most famous novel. Had a pretty extraordinary life, though it was also an often tortured one, given his father and upbringing.

Not a big novel reader, but after I was talking about Devil in the White City to someone, they recommended The Alienist. It was right in my wheelhouse given the history stuff in it. Glad it was finally made into a miniseries.
