The millenial in our office goes, "Who?" <looks it up> "Oh, the dude from The Longest Yard."

There were indications he was less than a nice person. But he also lived in a hell of a lot of pain over his later years.

RIP.

I don’t think I can delete my dupe thread.

Big fan of Burt. Probably should have won an Oscar for Boogie Nights.

Caught him in a talk show a couple of years ago when his book came out. He didn’t look well.

Is there a present-day Burt Reynolds equivalent? Old-school Hollywood guys like him and Nicohlson and Harrison Ford have/had an innate coolness that you just don't see today. Maybe McConaughey before he start selling Lincolns.

Had been in poor/failing health and pain for several years.

Was great in Boogie Nights And he ****ING Hated it!!!!

He fired his agent, didn't he?

There was a Burt Reynolds auction a few years ago. I tried very hard to buy this painting:

I ultimately failed, because the price got too high for what was kind of a lark. It has become one of those times in my life when I have regretted not saying "**** it" and just paying whatever it took.

RIP.

Ryan Gosling?

Clark Gable, Burt Reynolds, _______

Could it be Gosling? Maybe but not sure he has enough natural charisma and machismo.

So if guys like them come along every so often, who would the current one be after Gable and Reynolds?
