RIP Bud Greenspan

Olympic filmmaker Bud Greenspan passed away yesterday at age 84.

One of the many reasons why Olympic memories remain so vivid for me.

I heard of his passing before heading to bed last night. RIP to an amazing filmmaker.

Is his 1976 "Olympiad" series on PBS even available on DVD? I got seriously hooked on that series the summer before high school - Bud was just an incredible storyteller.
I also still have "Play It Again Bud" somewhere in Mom's basement. Great '70s book that really got to the bottom of fantastic finishes, disasters and controversies. If you know anything about the women's 4x100 relay in Berlin, he did an amazing Zapruderization of what happened on the baton transfer at the final leg.
And David Perry, who died in the late '80s...he was every bit the voiceover legend John Facenda was.
