RIP Bo Diddley

That sucks. I was wondering how he was doing when I saw him in "Purple Rain" a couple weeks ago. RIP.

Moment of silence. A gunslinger to the end.
If anybody here's attending his wake, make sure you wear a cobra snake for a necktie.

He also delivered one of the more memorable lines in "Trading Places," when a ruined, disheveled Louis Winthorp (Dan Aykroyd) was pawning his watch:

"In Philadelphia, it's worth 50 bucks."

RIP Bo.

That sucks... One of the stars of one of the best shoe commercials of all-time.

Not that that's what he'll be remembered for...

RIP

Really good Rolling Stone story on Bo from a couple of years back:

"Who Do You Love" had one of my all-time fave lyrics:

"The night were dark and the sky were blue, down the alleyway an ice wagon flew
Hit a bump and somebody screamed, you should've heard just what I'd seen"

RIP to one of the real giants.

Here is a good series of audio interviewers with Bo

Bo Diddley, Bo Diddley, have you heard?

Well, Trading Places and the Bo Knows commercial have been mentioned, but I have to refer to the George Thorogood "Bad to the Bone" video, which is where I was first introduced to him. See, MTV was good for something. RIP.

Wasn't Bo in Hank Jr's "All My Rowdy Friends" video too?

And Blues Brothers 2000.

My favorite was, "You Can't Judge A Book By Looking At The Cover."

Damn. Another legend I won't get to see.

I think I'll crank up the Diddley, right now.

RIP, another Mississippi legend.

Best non-Bo use of the Bo Diddley riff: "Not Fade Away" (Buddy Holly and Stones versions), "Desire" by U2.

RIP

This sucks.

Just listened to "Gunslinger" on Sirius while ago. Guess that's why they were playing it.

Sad day.

[Bump]

Because I just heard. (don't ask)

And because he deserves more kind words from those enjoyed his music and more kind words who were inspired by his music.
