Workhorse running back for the New York Football Giants, who later coached the team.

"Red" was a good replacement those first few years after Allie Sherman. But when Ron Johnson got pissed and Norm Snead couldn't hold it together after the '72 season, it sent the Giants on a tailspin for years.
 
He and Frank Gifford were the prototypes for what Vince Lombardi (the Giants' offensive coordinator in Webster's playing days) would later perfect with Jim Taylor and Paul Hornung in Green Bay.

Always found it interesting that he jumped to Canada. While Billy Vessels was a main influence/story for Deford's "Everyone's All American," there is a little bit of Webster there.
