She pretty much had to resign. Now, she gets the time she needs to recover instead of facing deadlines that mean little in the long run for her well-being.

Sad, but pretty clearly for the best at this point. It's clear her recovery isn't to the point where she could return to work soon, and with deadlines approaching for re-election, this was coming sooner rather than later.

I suspect her husband will run at some point, though probably not in this election cycle.

Nothing but the best to her and if she ever recovers enough to where she wants to run again two or four years down the line, I'd love to see it.

I really feel sad about this, in some respect the terrorist won; similar to the plight of Monica Seles, you lose the momentum due to the attack.

I'm glad she survived and is making progress. I hope she somehow overcomes the injuries and comes back better than ever.
