I wrote on another discussion that Robinson's comments are a mixture of his plain ignorance regarding victims of abuse and his frustration with how someone could seemingly not do a simple common sense thing, get out. Or as someone has suggested, perhaps on behalf of his employer, the 49ers, he was blaming the victim to help frame the issue for the pending Ray McDonald matter.

I think Robinson was sidelined for even opening his mouth on the topic. He's no expert in domestic violence dynamics and probably should have just tapped out of the conversation. I don't think he was victim blaming as much as expressing the same ignorance most of us have about domestic violence.
