Interesting stuff from my standpoint from Angola!, joe_schmoe, Football_Bat, and jps on this all-around interesting thread.

I was at the game in 2002 when Daingerfield broke Celina's streak. Celina scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to pull within one with 10 seconds left ... and the tying extra point attempt was wide left.

Celina plays Daingerfield this year and they also play Whitehouse, whose coach was at Daingerfield that year.

1983 Daingerfield Tigers ... Thomas Everett on that Daingerfield team, correct? Beat its opponents 631-8. The only team to score a touchdown on Daingerfield that year was Carthage (14-6), a Class 4A state semifinalist (and my alma mater ... GO DAWGS).

Dennis Alexander coached that Daingerfield team. He just got his 300th win last season (coaching at 2A Harleton now). I know a Daingerfield fan who was at the 2002 game you speak of. He gushes when he speaks of the Blue Tigers' win that day.

A lot of people don't like him, but Randy McFarlin must know what he's doing if he's got Whitehouse going to the playoffs.
