Poker Hall of Fame Ballot

Pauly has a vote on the Poker Hall of Fame ballot and is asking for people's opinions.

I would vote for Phil Ivey and Barry Greenstein with the third vote going to Dan Harrington, Mike Sexton or Eric Seidel. Daniel Negreanu will be a Hall of Famer but he's not as good a player as Ivey and he hasn't had the length of contribution to the game as the others listed above.

I'm thinking Sexton is your No. 1 choice. The guy is an ambassador for poker.

If I only had two more, I'm picking Negreanu and Harrington. The latter is the No. 1 reason I am the player I am today -- his books are the best in a market flooded with sub-par guides.

Among the next tier:
Seidel is very close, and likely my No. 4 -- if not 3b with Negreanu. His tournament success is hard to overlook.

Greenstein is close, but if you're picking three, he's not there yet.

Men the Master will get in; his stats are too good to be left out too long. ... Ivey is too young yet. ... Scotty has issues. ... McEvoy is more about longevity than success.

BTW, one watched Men lose an Omaha hand to Greenstein and storm away from the table. Barry called after him and kinda chased him through the Bike to tell him he won the jackpot -- which apparently didn't cover the cost of the hand he lost

Wow. It's one thing to cheat other players -- and, don't get me wrong, that's plenty bad -- but caging tournament chips I would think would get your ass banned, if the casinos found out.

Recently the AFA/Hall of Fame selection committee completed its annual task of reviewing personal profiles of qualified individuals nominated for induction into the Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame as the. . . "Class of 2009". Information submitted by HOF alumni and subsequent review by the selection committee resulted in the selection of 23 people for enshrinement this year. The American Football Association is a national 501(c) (3) non-profit, tax exempt corporation in its 29th year of operation and is dedicated to the advancement of adult (semi-pro) football from coast-to-coast. This year's Class of HOF’ers will be enshrined as the "Class of 2009" at the AFA’s 29th annual Semi-Pro Football Hall of Fame Induction Dinner which will take place at Indian Lakes-Hilton, Bloomingdale, Illinois on Thursday thru Saturday, October 22-23-24, 2009.

It's amusing because some of the same people who are commenting on this thread would have a nutty if you started ripping on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame or ripping on sportswriters being in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

They think they're amusing but they're just tedious and hypocritical.
