I’m going with Tom Verducci I’m a big fan of him I have his book The Cubs Way I’ve been wanting him to get the award for awhile I wouldn’t have a problem if Paul Hoynes won though I was at the Awards Ceremony in 2018 when Sheldon Ocker said I hope he’s up here getting this award I’m not familiar with Scott Miller though

It really makes me feel old when the generation AFTER the greats (Scully, Harwell, Harry Caray, Jack Buck, et. al) starts stepping aside. Good for Carpenter though. Seems to want to enjoy retirement and not have it sneak up on him like some announcers.

It's one of those, no matter who they pick it's not gonna be wrong. I will be honest and say out of all those names, the only one I didn't know for whatever reason is John Rooney.

Albert Belle, Rafael Palmeiro and Curt Schilling were dropped from the last Contemporary Ballot, when Fred McGriff was elected.

Kent, Delgado, Sheffield and Valenzuela were added.

Under a change announced by the Hall, any candidate on the ballot who receives fewer than five votes will not be eligible for that committee's ballot during the next three-year cycle. A candidate who is dropped, later reappears on a ballot and again receives fewer than five votes would be barred from future ballot appearances.

Beltran was a Hall of Fame player, but I do think his cheating after he retired as a player will affect his ability to gain entrance. I loved watching him play, so that’s a shame.

Beltran will get in this year -- he missed last time by 19 votes and there is no first-timers to take over the votes open by the three inductees.

Jones was 16 votes behind Beltran but I don't know if he's going to make up the gap this time even though he only has two tries left.

I'm interested in seeing what Utley gets bumped up to again after his jump last year

He's getting in. The cheating I think hurt him initially and why he's on his third try. At worst he's getting in next year
