I don't knock these as much as I used to. They could have a system set up to send PDFs to Newseum at a certain time of day.

Can anyone confirm if this mistake made it into the print edition?

Valid point - and it sure isn't as bad if it doesn't get out to your public. But still. The Newseum is displaying your work to the world. You may want to make sure it gets a good version.

True. Common sense should dictate the time for auto-send be after your print deadline.

Then again, we're talking about the newspaper business. Common sense retired to a stool at the corner bar long ago.

No. Newspapers do their drinking in the garage these days.

Actually, newspapers drink out of a brown bag in the alley out back of the Circle K with the change you gave them because they just needed 50 cents because their car broke down and they need to get on the bus to see their kid in the hospital so could you just help out with any change, man?

This may have been the case in Ames, but the story broke at 9 p.m. on Saturday, so the desk may have gotten the green light to break deadline and re-do the Sunday front with the 4th or 5th writethru.

The Newseum post should still have been considered, but just tossing that out there as an alternate scenario.

Just some obvious dummy type in hed/cutline spaces - we still have no answer on whether it made it into print?

I saw a print copy yesterday and everything was fine. The PDF must've been an early version or something.
