Asshat pastor instructing his "faithful" to horde supplies, await impending firestorm that will consume NYC, parts of Jersey and Conn. ::)

Everyone got your tin foil hats ready?

Hmmm...which parts of Connecticut? Probably New Haven. Those godless bastards.

If it's Greenwich, then I'm ok with this.

No comments allowed. How unfortunate, if not just for the reading.

Major cities all across America will experience riots and blazing fires—such as we saw in Watts, Los Angeles, years ago.

it's those damn negros again ::) :o ::)

So I guess I should pick UConn to win the NCAA Tourney?

Seriously, there are so many people stoking the Doomsday card, at some point people are just going to have to "go off" like a guy with a six-hour erection.

If the urge to loot after four hours does not subside, please call the National Guard.

but what if god is speaking to my heart and says you're a moron?

That's THE David Wilkerson, author of the "Cross and the Switchblade" a classic piece of Christian writing about his experiences in dealing with heroin addicts in NYC. Still in print after over 45 years.

Pat Boone played Wilkerson in the movie.

Not your garden-variety nutbar.

But still, I'm packing a month's worth of supplies.

Your meds have addled your brain.

Cases of 12 or 24 only.

Oh, a case of Johnny Walker Red might get me through.

I think the Jehovah's Witnesses hold the record for the most failed doomsday predictions, including (from a quick googlization) 1874, 1878, 1881, 1910, 1914, 1918, 1920, 1925, 1941, 1975, 1984 and 1999. I remember reading that after one of those recent ones, they lost about a third of their members. It only took a half dozen or so failed doomsday predictions before a few of them caught on.

Isn't it funny how these doomsday predictions always seem to be for "those folks over there"? In this case, Texas-based pastor foreseeing an apocalypse for those people in the godless New York City. It never seems to be their own congregations they're "seeing", does it?

I SO thought this thread would be about the Homecoming Queen and a gun...

You and me both. Maybe she's upgraded to nukes and is going to wipe out New York City.
