We are looking to supplement our current staff with a beat reporter focused on football.
Requirements include experience covering major college or professional football, attention to detail, excellent reporting skills, a competitive drive, social media proficiency, the ability to communicate well and a strong work ethic. A passion for Notre Dame sports is a plus, but not a requirement.

Job Duties
-- Attend all football games, open practices and media availabilities and produce content afterwards for BlueandGold.com and Blue & Gold Illustrated
-- Cover men’s basketball games and other notable events for the website and magazine
-- Break news on Notre Dame football, basketball and other sports
-- Average two to three daily front-page posts on website and 500 message board posts a month
-- Write features, a column and contribute to notes packages for each issue of Blue & Gold Illustrated
-- Write features, three-to-four position-group previews and notes packages for football preview magazine
-- Participate in weekly message board chats
-- Develop an insider web piece
-- Appear on Blue & Gold podcasts and live video shows
-- Help promote Blue & Gold publications and the website through appearances on radio and TV shows, and through use of social media (Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook)
-- Assist in developing content plans for BlueandGold.com and Blue & Gold Illustrated, and attend weekly editorial meetings
-- Help moderate message boards
-- Become an expert on Rivals.com admin and the current Notre Dame football and basketball teams
-- Help with proofing of pages in magazine
-- Book travel (room — Choice Hotels, flight and rental car) for road football trips
-- Follow company writing and reporting guidelines, and provide ideas to improve all company properties and approaches
-- Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude
-- Help in other ways as needed
-- Have fun
