Tons of porn is readily available online for free. Yet there are still lots of sites making money charging for it (I think).

How come that doesn't work with news?

When David Duchovney or Wade Boggs seeks treatment from reading too much news online, maybe then newspapers can start charging for content.

England does the topless women on the inside of the paper, right? One of the Cape Town papers did as well - new girl every day! That paper also made the New York Post look like the New York Times, circa 1955.

Because we don't have nekked women in our paper.

We do at ours somewhat, it's just a strip club ad. Causing quite a ruckus.

A former shop always had strip club ads in sports, but we had to make sure they didn't run on a page that had any high school copy. Since preps were the vast, vast majority of our local coverage, it made things quite fun for whoever was doing layout.

The Times tried that. Turned out Kristol, Friedman and Dowd were to pay content what two-girls-one-cup were to online porn.

The Trentonian used to run pictures of bikini-clad women every Monday, in full color, across the two middle pages of the paper. As a lonely teenager who would've gotten turned down at a whorehouse, it was like getting Playboy for a quarter.

We just got our first gentleman's club ad to run in the sports section. They said business picked up.

Actually, I think you may be wrong about that.

The glut of free product has really hurt the "prestige" purveyors. Seems to be the "porn industry" was, at one point, hoping for a piece of the bailout.

Yep. I heard some porn star on Howard Stern (don't judge me, I was in a rental car that had Sirius and I was trying to stay awake) saying that the porn industry had taken a HUGE hit. She was getting like half the money per scene that she used to --- and she wasn't working nearly as much --- because of the free sites.

Sad times all around.

Pretty ironic that a porn star is complaining about not being able to get laid.

She wasn't complaining about not being able to get laid, she was compainling about not being able to get paid.

For a porn star, ain't that the same thing?
