To quote from spnited ... MOFNW. Beautiful country, though. If you don't need to be within an hour's drive of the nearest multiplex cinema or Wally World and like the outdoors, you might like Thermop.

Keith Domke used to be the editor of the Riverton paper, which just bought majority interest in the Thermop paper after the former editor/publisher/majority owner retired and sold his shares to the Peck family. Steve Peck's good people; his late father owned the Riverton paper for many years and Steve literally grew up working there.

Hot springs.

Thermopolis won the 2A state football title by a 22-20 score this fall; it's 3A in everything else. It used to be Hot Springs County High School, but (like several other "FILLINTHEBLANK County" high schools in Wyoming) everybody, including the media, referred to it by the city.

Despite its location in the central western portion of the state, it's in the East Conference for most sports. Wait 'till you see the road trips. ;D

Thermop is centrally located in the state, on the northeast corner of the Wind River Indian Reservation and looks to be 2-3 hours from Casper (to the southwest) and Cody-Yellowstone (to the northwest).

Gorgeous country with tons of outdoors things to do. You'll freeze your ass off in winter, too.

Thermop has one of my favorite local commercials of all time:

Thermop's Days Inn is inside Hot Springs State Park. It might be the nicest Days Inn in the entire chain.

Whoever gets this job will be able to make regular short road trips south to the town of Shoshoni for milkshakes from Yellowstone Drug. I'm jealous.

Probably not as much as you might think. Only one PRCA rodeo a year there, best I can tell (the Thermopolis Cowboy Rendezvous in late June) along with a high school rodeo in early spring.
