One of the greatest thrills of a career is seeing your published story about four feet above the ripe urinal cakes of a pub restroom.

When I get down I let that memory wash over me and it all just feels right.

But is it still "news" one day later?

I get most of my “news” online and I actually prefer to do Times puzzles online. There’s a lot more than breaking news in the Sunday Times. I enjoy the adventure of wandering through the pages and pausing where I find something. Online isn’t the same sort of tactile experience. I’m willing to pay a little for that.
