“New Venture Fund in Washington, D.C. is pooling donations from numerous sources, in state and out of state, says Zullo. The organization will also be funding a group of sites similar to the Virginia Mercury, countrywide.”

About New Venture Fund - New Venture Fund

They have a link to their 990 on the website. Someone with more background in deciphering them could come up with some interesting stuff. Some big donor has to be bankrolling this.
