AP has their 2011 edition of college helmets and logos on Exchange.

This is, of course, a time of great jubilation and children dancing in the streets.

Grab them before they're off the site!

Only down side: They don't appear to have adjusted for some of the new helmets, most notably Boise, Georgia and Maryland.

(You may fire when ready. ;D)

They've improved them a little bit in some cases. Just a little better detail, richer colors.

May of the helmets you saw, specifically the Maryland, Georgia and Boise State ones mentioned, were one-time use helmets.

I don't doubt it with Maryland or Georgia, but I thought the Boise helmets were their new full-time helmets.

I just finished breaking all the helmets and all the logos into separate JPEG files. We have them saved in our InDesign folder so we can easily import them into college preview capsules, Big Ten standings, etc.

You know who pioneered the logo balls, right? Design guru Charles Apple. There's somebody I know out there who just bit through his coffee cup with that mention. ;)

In fact, we purchased the set for one-time use 2-3 years ago for a bowl-schedule graphic.

Yet another smart use of funds by our public universities. Geesh

You really think the universities paid for those unis?

Phil Knight laughs in your general direction.

Just like the uniforms those teams wore, they were one-time only.

And thank God for that in Georgia's case.

OK then...maybe Phil Knight could spread his money around elsewhere at the college. Point being do we really need new helmets every game? Such a stupid, wasteful trend.

I could spend countless hours looking at the historical helmets here. World Football League helmets? Seriously?

2011 Maryland/Georgia/Boise State not included, though.

How do you know he doesn't? And perhaps those one-time-use jerseys are being auctioned off afterwards, with proceeds going to help aid university programs or scholarships.

Last time I checked, he oversees a somewhat profitable athletic apparel and shoe company. How dare he spend his company's money on something that he feels will help create buzz around his business.

thanks sportsguy...we're revamping the look of our Friday night coverage this fall and those will help us a ton. Been hoping for something like that for years, but didn't expect there to be one for high schools.

Look closely, because I know they're well short of complete on Pennsylvania. You wouldn't want to commit to them and then find you don't have what you need.

yes, I did notice that...still impressive, but yes, it has about half of our major schools in Oregon.
