By the way, what sporting event you would rather see? NBA, figure skating, or a god-awful Arizona State playing USC and playing Herb Sendek basketball? Man, the USC-ASU tilt is brutal to watch right now.

I think the same things were being said about last year's game, too. But what conference ended up with the eventual champion?

PS...just put on the game in the middle of the third. It just looks like players are going through the motions...is it time to abolish all-star games?

Mason is awesome. Maybe I'm new school, but when I was sent up to Detroit for a playoff game last year, I thoroughly enjoyed hearing him announce the game.

Uh. . .no, "fdunce". I watched it. But the pre-game hype, as indicated in my first post, was stupid and yawn-inducing.

As for the announcer . . .I like guys who act like they have seen a game before, not ones who are gonna mess themselves every time they home team scores. This guy Mason was as bad as the dude in Orlando and the guy in Chicago when those teams were good in the early-mid 1990s and they were on NBC every week.

Don't be hating on Red Clay. I'll give you the Lakers' announcer as someone who could have done tonight's game and sound professional. Wait a minute, he is a professional. No frills, no wacky zany announcing of names.

How fitting is it that Kobe loses the skills competition due to a flubbed passing drill, and he takes the most shots in the All-Star game so he can get the MVP and continue to 'rehab' his image.
