Getting ready for race season and we're looking for talented freelance multi-media reporters to cover our ARCA Menards Series, regional touring (NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour) and weekly racing series for our digital platforms.
We have 60+ events from New England to southern California, and we're looking for enterprising reporters to help us tell the story of our drivers, series and races.
Don't know a lot about racing? Don't worry. We're looking for candidates with a strong skill set in social media, video and reporting first, and a willingness to learn and immerse themselves in a new experience.
SUMMARY
The Freelance, Digital Content Reporters are responsible for coverage of NASCAR’s regional and weekly series as well as ARCA Racing Series and tent-pole non-NASCAR short-track events for NASCAR.com/ARCARacing.com. This includes producing offseason, pre-event, race weekend and post-event coverage content, as well as breaking news and feature work. This position will be responsible for all levels of the content production workflow covering various series or race events that fall under the NASCAR regional series umbrella; working directly with the editorial staff managing the NASCAR.com and ARCARacing.com sites.

New England – Primarily NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour
Southeast – Primarily ARCA Menards Series events in the region
Midwest (Ohio to Iowa / Minnesota to Kansas) – Primarily ARCA Menards Series events in the region
West Coast – Primarily ARCA Menards Series events in the region
Canada - Primarily Toronto-area or Quebec. Bilingual in English & French Quebec would be preferred.
Each region would also include applicable NASCAR Weekly Racing Series or other non-NASCAR short-track events within the region that do not conflict with primary responsibilities; reporters could cover up to approximately 15-17 events in 2020
OVERVIEW
Job duties will be primarily on race event coverage – pre-, race weekend and post- – with a focus on multi-media and social media content, including quick-turnaround video and written posts.
In addition to hourly pay for event, will reimburse for travel expenses (flights, hotel, rental car, meals) within agreed-upon range; monthly pay for non-race event coverage.
Travel: 90% including weekends
Interested candidates should email [email protected] with a short intro & experience overview, and any applicable clips/links to their work.
